Here we are in the Anza-Borrego Desert. We took a road trip yesterday when Leigh got off work. It was interesting driving up thru the mountains into the desert. Leigh as usual found the craziest roads, no matter where we are Leigh can find serious curves!!

Here we are at this huge desert off road park Ocotillo Wells. There were dune buggies, dirtbikes and quads everywhere. Jimmy this will defiantly need to be a stop when you go cross country!!

The beautiful sunset as we headed back.

Driving thru mountainous Cuyamaca Rancho State Park--quite a different experience from Anza-Borrego. The highways from the east climb to 2,400 feet or so and then descend about 2,000 feet to the valley. Where the highway breaks out of the high-country vegetation, it reveals the great bowl of the Anza-Borrego desert. The valley spreads below, and there are mountains all around. The mountains had little vegetation the closer to the desert with cacti growing up thru the rock and the mountains here are mass piles of rock. It was pretty amazing. We saw areas that had been burned and the growth was coming back.
